Jakem Farm is a 4WD training area east of Adelaide, between Mount Barker and Callington (JAKEM Farm Lot 14 & 15 Eclair Main Road Callington, see map). It has 16 4WD tracks, 10 playgrounds, a number of camp grounds and other facilities. The farm doesn't look very big on the map, but we have been off-road driving for about four hours last Monday, travelled about 30km using low gear all the time and still didn't tackle every track (maybe half of it). It's a huge area! I used to do off-road driving on motorbikes in the past but riding a motorbike is quite different to 4WD and Nina and I didn't have much experience doing that kind of stuff. The cool thing at Jakem's farm is that they have a training area close to the entrance where absolute beginners are able to practice a little before they jump into the main sandpit. And it's a safe place, towing is included in the entrance fee (we didn't need it, yeah).
