The plant on this page is called "Yakka" (
Xanthorrhoea ). It is an Australian native that grows around Fairview Park. It is a very slow growing plant (it grows just one or two centimetres per year), and it is very resistant to bushfire. Native Australians use this palnt to get medicine and food from it.
