Ninas sister Andrea came for a visit this year. So we organised a short trip to Kangaroo Island. Kangaroo Island is all about nature and has quite a few stunning features. Here a few impressions:

It's a fairly small ferry but the trip is less than one hour anyway.

First stop, the American River campground
The next day lead us to D'Estrees Bay. As always we were travelling with two cars. They are very old, so this is just safer.

Most amenities are new because of the 2020 bushfire that affected almost the whole island.
The next stop the same day let us to Seal Bay.

We moved on to Vivonne Bay for the night. The whole island has been
on fire in 2020, now its 2025 and nature is already conquering back visibly.

We spend two nights at the Rocky River campground. There is heaps to see there, e.g. the Remarkable Rocks.

Down at the beach
West Bay Rd leads to - you guessed it - West Bay
West Bay
It's just 40 km up north from Rocky River to Harveys Return, out next stop
Harveys Return is just a lighthouse and a very challenging path from a nearby bay to it.
We went back to Brown Beach from there using only infrequently used side tracks on our last day
